The short answer
Tidio is a customer-service platform for online businesses, especially stores: a website chat, a shared inbox with Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and email, ticketing, and its Lyro AI agent, billed by conversations. Its mobile SDK for putting the chat inside your own app is part of Premium, which is priced on request. DevReply does one thing: a native chat inside your app, on every plan including Free, answered from one inbox, with an MCP server so your own AI agent can work it. If you run a website or a store, Tidio fits. If your users are in an iOS or Android app, DevReply is built for that.

What a small team pays
Take a team of three answering one app for a year, at the list prices above:
- DevReply: $0 on Free while you stay under 50 conversations a month, with the native in-app chat included. Pro is $490 a year for 500 conversations a month, with your agent working the inbox. Adding teammates costs nothing.
- Tidio for a website: Free covers 50 conversations a month and 10 seats. Starter is $290 a year billed yearly (100 conversations a month), Growth from $590 a year (250 a month). Lyro AI past the free 50 is extra, from $390 a year billed yearly.
- Tidio inside your app: the mobile SDK is on Premium, and Premium's price isn't listed publicly. You'd need to ask Tidio's sales team.
For a website chat, Tidio's lower plans cost less than DevReply Pro, with fewer conversations. For a chat inside a mobile app, the comparison is DevReply's free or $49 plan against a plan you have to request a quote for.
Why DevReply for mobile apps
Tidio's plans are built around a website widget and a store's inbox. Its in-app SDK sits at the top tier. DevReply starts from the app:
- The in-app chat on every plan. DevReply's native SDKs come with Free, so a solo developer can ship a real support chat on day one and pay nothing until the app grows.
- Native screens on every framework. SwiftUI on iOS and Jetpack Compose on Android, with no web view. The React Native (bare and Expo) and Flutter packages open those same native screens, and there's a web script for web apps.
- Context with every message. Device, OS, app version and language arrive with each conversation, plus anything your app passes, like the user's plan. Open the chat from a paywall with a draft and an error code, and the team sees them as “Opened with”.
- Your agent instead of a metered bot. On Pro, your own agent works the inbox over DevReply's MCP server (listed in the official MCP Registry), with no per-conversation AI fee. Lyro is a separate add-on billed by conversation.
- App-store account handling. Log in with your own user id, log out on sign-out so the next person starts clean, and delete a user from the app, the inbox or your backend, as Apple requires. The chat speaks 34 languages, including Hebrew and Arabic right to left.
Your coding agent can install DevReply from the app's setup guide or over MCP. See the guides for SwiftUI, Expo and React Native and Flutter.
Where Tidio is stronger
- Many channels on every plan. Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and email come with Tidio's free plan. DevReply has the in-app chat and a web script, and no social channels or email inbox.
- An AI agent that answers on its own. Lyro learns from your FAQ and website and resolves questions without a person. DevReply has no AI bot of its own: you bring your agent, and on Pro it works the inbox for you.
- Built for stores. Native Shopify actions, sales flows, visitor lists and ticketing. If you sell on a website, that toolkit matters more than an in-app SDK.
- Cheaper for a small website. Starter at $290 a year billed yearly is less than DevReply Pro, if 100 conversations a month is enough.
- Maturity. Tidio is older and bigger, with desktop and mobile apps for agents. DevReply is new, made by Code Axolot for our own apps first. Webhooks and in-app nudges are still coming, planned for Scale.
Which one to pick
- Pick DevReply if your users are mostly in an iOS or Android app and you want a native chat there today, on a free or flat plan, with your own AI agent on the inbox.
- Pick Tidio if you run a website or an online store, want social channels in one inbox, and want an AI agent that answers on its own.
Try DevReply free with your own app: no card, unlimited teammates, and the native SDKs on the free plan. Coding agents can read everything about it in llms.txt.
